MAY at the Oarsman

The countryside is having a party, hawthorn is foaming and the bluebells and dandelions providing the first pollen.
The bees are buzzing and the dawn chorus is reaching it’s cacophonic peak.

This is a beautiful moment in the year, for making merry, allow yourself to feel the sense of release the warmer weather brings.
It’s no wonder May is so full of celebrations.

May means warmer weather, tempered by a few chilly nights. We like to acknowledge that balance by using asparagus, strawberries, rhubarb, fennel, and radishes in everything from pre’s to main and rich desserts.
