FEBRUARY at the Oarsman

This month, the extended evenings provide us with a tremendous surge of energy. Just a handful of milder days can further ignite our enthusiasm to kick off the year and immerse ourselves in action.

Shimmering through the earth are the beautiful sights of pure white snowdrops, which mass together in a snowy frenzy of activity. Too dainty to compete with summer flowers and leafy canopies, they have made their peace often with snow and ice, antifreeze coursing through their veins, in order to claim a quota of the faint winter sun.

In February we enjoy Jerusalem artichokes, rhubarb, purple sprouting broccoli, kale and chicory.

ON THE PLATES

Whole Burrata, Roquette & Walnut Pesto, Pangritata

A luscious whole burrata accompanied by a vibrant combination of roquette and walnut pesto. The pangritata provides a delightful crunch, enhancing the overall texture and flavour profile of the dish.

IN THE BOTTLE

We are delighted to stock Little Pomona ciders at The Oarsman. Working with its home orchard and some of the most talented orchardists in its environs, Little Pomona crafts ciders and perries and other fermented beverages that speak of the land, that taste of the harvest, and that look to the future.
